How many of us have candles around the house? How many times have we scathed by without having a disaster of spillt wax all over the carper, rug, hardwood floor, or counter top?
Last night, I had my moment when hubby tripped on a computer cord and knocked everything off the coffeetable and sent the candle flying...er soaring in the air.
Along with it-candle wax!!
SPLAT.
WAX All over the carpet!
Do you see the mound of red wax in the middle. My heart is doing palpitations as I think about the clean up process. Then I get a grip. Semi get over the fact that reading my blogs will have to be permanently postponed for the NIGHT!
Next thing I know after a quick education on youtube
I had my carpet clean, was back in my chair, and back to my blogs in no time.
HOW TO CLEAN HOT SPILLED WAX:
first you need an iron
then you'll need some brown paper bags
i liked mine cut into thin strips
for the magic trick...
set paper over dried wax-place iron over wax to reheat
do not leave iron on wax for too long! this would defeat purpose
just long enough to bring oil out of carpet and into paper
