Weekend Warrior: Reburbed Table

This has been a work in progress for some time. I want all of you "newbies" (what I call myself and others out there who are newly discovering themselves as DIYers) out there to know that this project can be accomplished by even the newest of DIYers. I recently sold our triangle table. Yes! I said triangle table. We had out-grown it the second we brought it home. It could only seat four.
Sold it to a local Craigslist user and bought a much bigger table. But in the pit of my stomache I new I was really wanting my coveted round table as I had seen in Pottery Barn. But I was not prepared to pay PB prices. Therefore, I settled and found another affordable option. Hubby was so thankful:)
Lovely table. A woman like myself should be content. But...the chairs were too tall, too heavy, and the finish was too black. Do you see where we're headed. Next thing I know, Hubby has agreed and we're back to the store to return our table. My husband is so patient. Do all of them come this way?
My search began...and to my unbelievable and new found LUCK I found a table on Craigslist for only $60!!! Yippee! I was so excited. I calmly informed my husband about this fortunate find. Next thing I know we are driving to meet the lady to pick up our table.
Here are the before and after pictures. I will put the step-by-step instructions in Weekend Warrior Tab.
