Recently, I started a new book titled The Late, Lamented Molly Marx. Good read. I've only just began but so far, so good.
In one chapter the main character writes about her bestie. I have to share it because it struck me and made me think... I admired how the author, Sally Koslow was able to put how I felt and thought into words that I could/would ever be able to do.
*Please note where it says Brie, insert my bestie Lindsay (who is the lovely picture in the jean skirt)
pg. 26 ...Brie was as true a friend as any woman could want. There was nothing syrupy about her, yet she always let me know she wanted only good things on my behalf. Brie brought out my best self. In her presence, even if it were only over the phone, I wanted to rise to the occasion and try to be more-funnier, happier, sharper.
To me, this captured a small ingredient of how I feel about her and how she makes me want to be a better friend, supporter, forgiver, and giver.
